Freelance Heroes Day 2019: My takeaways.

At the end of May, I was completely honoured to be invited to speak at Freelance Heroes Day in Wolverhampton. When I started out in my freelance journey, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. To be honest, I'm not sure anyone does. You might think you know what you're doing, but there will be a hell of a lot of challenges and curveballs along the way, and when you look back you'll realise how naive you were at the start. So …

A BIT ABOUT ME

So I’ve added this ‘About Me’ section but now have no idea what to write. And it’s not because I don’t think I’m interesting. I just don’t know what other people would actually find interesting about me. So here goes…

Firstly, I’m a proud single mum to a three year old lunatic child, coincidentally called Luna. I’m also an award winning, CIM qualified marketer and I run a marketing agency – Lunax Digital. 10 points for Griffindor if you can guess how I came up with the name for my business.

I suffer from a mood disorder which, although fairly mild, does have devastating consequences on my life sometimes.

In the few minutes of spare time I have, I support and mentor other people at the start of their business journeys, and run a podcast and support group called The Balancing Act. And in the remaining few seconds of time I have to myself, I can most likely be found watching Harry Potter (again and again), flipping/swinging/bouncing around at gymnastics, or eating chocolate buttons. No buttons, no entry.
